[Costco] Beef Tenderloin is CHEAPER !!!!!!!!($49.99/kg) (was:$64.99/kg
- Retailer:
- Costco
As of July 6th, Costco has reduced their meat prices again.
I usually cut these into 7-8 slices. I make black pepper beef and veggie. It costs $20+ at a Chinese restaurant and will have more veggies than meat.
If I make the same meat portion as them, I can make 15 times. Eating at home is a lot cheaper.

It would depend on your perspective.
Local news did a recent story about how the prices at Costco were up. They interviewed a fair amount of people during the piece who didn't like the increase, so people who felt that way might see it that way.
I will buy meat at any price, so I'm cool with the price being less.

I feel like the price of something like denuded tenderloin is also driven up (higher than the prices of other cuts) by the increased cost of labour during the pandemic (wage increases, shorter hours, less staff, etc.).

Thanks OP!!
Prices were getting ridiculous last time I was there. Good to know, have a few more reasons to head over to Costco anyways

Yes, finally the prices are decreasing. Hopefully, wagyu will have the same price reduction.

Nope, not a hot deal in my book. Mechanically tenderized Costco beef, at a price it was 6 months ago, does not a hot deal make........

I understand that there is no "regular price drop" forum, but this is indeed not a hot deal at all....

Meh...that's still almost $23/lb despite having to buy the entire tenderloin.
I gotta wonder how many people on here buy tenderloin at Costco then cook it in their instant pot? Just saying...

So chinese food restaurants are charging $750 per kg of actual meat used in black pepper beef?
My local chinese restaurant charges $13 for a plate of black pepper beef. Are you saying the entire dish only has 17 grams of beef?[/quote]
